Your experience matters here. So does theirs.

The evidence from previous reviews and inquiries is already there. What gives it power is a community of people who have lived it — together. When individuals come together and share their experience, the picture becomes clearer, the voice becomes stronger, and the case for reform becomes harder to overlook. Here's how you can be part of that.

You don't need to do everything. Even one contribution — one data point, one idea, one share — adds to the collective voice that helps governing systems understand the scale of what families and learners are experiencing.

The Tracker — Space 01

Add your data to the tracker

Your experience is evidence. Add a structured, anonymous data point to the advocacy tracker — as a parent, learner, educator, or professional — showing the scale and reach of a system that needs reform. No name required.

Contribute an idea

Have a strategy, approach, or innovation that's made a difference? Something you've tried, seen, or imagined that could work at scale? Bring it to the Ideation space — good ideas deserve to go further.

Support the reform agenda

Previous inquiries and reviews have already called for the reforms we're advocating for. Helen's Way is here to support governing systems in understanding and acting on what's already been recommended — and to show that system change goes beyond policy: it means rebuilding the infrastructure, the accountability mechanisms, and the cultural understanding of neurodivergence across every institution that touches a learner's life.

For educators

Bring a professional perspective

Educators and allied health professionals often see patterns that individual families can't. If you're working with neurodivergent learners and you have observations to share — about what helps, what doesn't, and what the system makes difficult — this community needs your perspective.

For researchers

Connect research with community

Academic and independent researchers can help validate what communities already know and surface patterns that strengthen the case for change. If your work intersects with neurodivergent learners, education equity, or disability policy, we'd welcome a conversation.

For specialist services

Bring specialist practice to the evidence

Disability education consultants, developmental education services, neuro-affirming trainers, and other specialist consulting services work across many families and schools. If you support neurodivergent learners professionally, your patterns and practice insights strengthen the case for change — share what you're seeing.

For advocates

Amplify community voice

Professional bodies, family members, friends, and colleagues who advocate for neurodivergent learners can find here a community building collective evidence. Use what we're gathering to strengthen your advocacy — and add your voice to it.

For policymakers

Engage with the evidence

Boards, education governance bodies, and parliamentarians ready to listen will find here an evidence base built from the people who live this reality. If you're prepared to act on what this community knows, we'd welcome that conversation.

Questions about getting involved.

Do I need to be an expert to contribute?

Not at all — that's the whole point. Helen's Way is built on the belief that shared lived experience is a form of expertise. You don't need qualifications to share your experience or your ideas. The only requirement is that your contribution is honest and comes from your own perspective.

Can I contribute anonymously?

Yes. If you'd like your contribution used without your name attached, just say so in your message or email — you're welcome to write from any address. We take the responsibility of holding anything shared in confidence very seriously.

I'm a professional — is there a specific way I should contribute?

Not a specific format, no. Whether you're a teacher, therapist, psychologist, or advocate, your professional observations are valuable in the same way as personal shared lived experience. You can add a structured data point to the Tracker, bring an idea to Innovative Solutions, contribute a resource, or suggest a reform on the Reform Agenda — whichever fits what you'd like to share.

What happens to the information I share?

It helps build the evidence base for Helen's Way's advocacy and reform work. Tracker data is only ever used in aggregated, de-identified form. If you share an idea, resource or reform suggestion, we follow up with you by email — and nothing is published without your explicit consent. We never sell or share your details.

How do I share an idea, a resource, or a reform suggestion?

Use the form on the relevant page — Innovative Solutions for an idea, Resources to contribute a resource, or the Reform Agenda to suggest a reform. You just leave your details and a one-line summary, and we'll email you to talk it through, so you stay in control of what's shared.

I'm a policymaker or researcher — can we work together?

Yes — and we'd welcome it. Helen's Way is specifically interested in connecting community evidence with the people who can act on it. If you're a researcher, policymaker, or institutional representative who is genuinely open to engaging with this community's experience, please get in touch by emailing us at hello@helensway.au.

Is Helen's Way affiliated with any organisation?

Helen's Way is an independent, volunteer-run advocacy platform. It is not affiliated with any school, government body, disability organisation, or political party. It was created by a parent and advocate, and it is run in the interest of the community it serves.
